Ginny Ballard
Ginny joined the staff of Eastside studio in August 2004.

Ginny began training as a Pilates instructor in February 2004 and completed her Physical Mind Concentration that August. During that same time she also apprenticed with Bryan Peters and Associates, the premiere Pilates studio in Houston. In addition, she has done a workshop with one of the Pilates elders, Mary Bowen.

Though Ginny is relatively new to instructing, she has been a Pilates student since moving to Houston in 1986. Complaining once to a fellow ballet student that when you've waited until your 30's to start "your ballet training", it was difficult to strengthen the necessary muscles because you couldn't even locate them, she was encouraged to try Pilates as a way of locating those muscles. She has found that the Pilates method of strenthening and stretching has allowed her to avoid injury in all of her physical activities which have included running, swimming, rollerblading, tap, and ballet.

Ginny teaches Pilates a part time basis at the moment because she teaches English full time at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She plans to increase her Pilates involvement when she retires from teaching English.
